Brothers/Sisters,
As you are aware the BC Government has approved sick leave for workers as of January 1st, 2022 (this does not apply to our federally regulated employers). Our members will now be entitled to take up to 5 days of paid leave and 3 days unpaid leave per year for any personal illness or injury. However, your employer may request reasonable sufficient proof of illness. Members must be employed for 90 days to qualify for the sick days. The employment year is based on your starting date with your employer. We have attached a link with the new legislation regarding sick leave on our website
If you have any questions or concerns regarding sick leave, please call the union hall.
